Carnival Music for Videos: Venice Masks, Parades and Party
Carnival music has to do two jobs: sound like the costume, and be cleared for the place your video ends up. The party hits you hear at every carnival are recent, protected songs, so a club video, a shop advert or a parade aftermovie with them gets muted or claimed once it is posted. Here you find recordings for each kind of carnival video, from Venetian masquerade to Alpine Fasching brass and children's carnival songs, licensed once for €29.90 per track, worldwide and with no expiry.

More brass is on brass music for videos, more Alpine dance music on German folk music, Latin rhythms on Latin music for video.
Why the famous carnival hits are the trap
The songs everybody sings along to at carnival are mostly modern pop and party songs, written in the last few decades, so both the song and the recording are protected. Using one in a video needs a licence from the publisher and from the label. Posted without them, the video is matched by YouTube Content ID or the Instagram and TikTok audio systems and gets muted, blocked or claimed, and a business account is treated as advertising.
The old carnival melodies are a different case. "Il carnevale di Venezia" is a traditional tune, Saint-Saëns' *Carnival of the Animals* is long in the public domain, and the classic children's carnival songs are folk songs. The melody is free, but every recording of it is protected: what you license is the recording.
What does the licence cover, and what not?
Covered: your own videos and posts with the music, for a carnival club, a school, a shop or a brand: YouTube, Instagram, TikTok, Facebook, your website, a livestream of your gala, a cinema or TV spot. One licence per track, €29.90 once, worldwide and forever, with a licence certificate.
Not covered: playing music in public. Music on a parade float, at a carnival ball or as background at a party is a public performance. The organiser settles that with the collecting society (GEMA in Germany, AKM in Austria), as for any music at an event. That is separate from the licence for your video.
Artyfile registers its catalogue with YouTube Content ID, so a claim may appear on a monetised YouTube video. A claim is not a copyright strike and the video stays online; your licence certificate is your proof.

Frequently asked questions
What music can I use in a carnival video?
Music you own or have licensed for video. Famous carnival party hits are protected songs that need licences from their publisher and label. An Artyfile track is licensed once for €29.90 and may be used in carnival videos, ads and social posts worldwide.
Is Venetian carnival music public domain?
The traditional melody "Il carnevale di Venezia" is in the public domain, but every recording of it is protected. You license a recording, for example Artyfile's Carnival Of Venice, for €29.90 once per track.
Can I use the music for a carnival club's YouTube channel?
Yes. Club channels, school channels and business accounts are covered, including livestreams of a gala or parade and their recordings, worldwide and with no expiry.
Can I play licensed music on a parade float or at a carnival ball?
Not under the video licence. Playing music in public is a public performance, which the organiser settles with the collecting society (GEMA in Germany, AKM in Austria), as for any music at an event.
Do I need music for a costume shop or bakery advert at carnival time?
Yes, an advert needs licensed music. One Artyfile licence covers the spot on social media, on your website, on TV and in cinema, for €29.90 once per track.
When does the carnival season start?
In Germany the carnival season traditionally opens on 11 November at 11:11 a.m. and ends on Ash Wednesday. In 2027, Rose Monday falls on 8 February and Ash Wednesday on 10 February.
Will my carnival video get a Content ID claim?
On YouTube it can: Artyfile registers its catalogue with Content ID. A claim is not a strike, the video stays online, and your licence certificate is the proof that you may use the track.
