- Are standard Artyfile licences exclusive?
- No — every standard catalogue licence (Basic €29.90, Limited Edition from €96.90) is deliberately non-exclusive, which is what keeps it affordable. If your brand, film or campaign needs a track that competitors cannot use, that requires one of the exclusive arrangements on this page: an exclusive licence, a full master buyout, or a custom commission.
- What does an exclusive licence include?
- Under an exclusive licence, Artyfile withdraws the track from further licensing — no new licences are sold to anyone else for the agreed scope and term. Licences sold before your agreement remain valid (they cannot be revoked), which is why prior licensing history is disclosed and priced into your quote.
- What does a full master buyout include?
- A full master buyout transfers the master recording itself to you under an individual agreement — the strongest form of ownership. Scope, territory, publishing position and handover are defined in the contract, and you receive documented proof of the transfer.
- How is exclusive pricing determined?
- There is no fixed public price — every exclusive arrangement is quoted individually based on the track, its licensing history, the scope, the term and the territory. As a rule of thumb, exclusivity is priced as a multiple of the standard €29.90 licence. Send the inquiry and you will usually have a tailored offer within one business day, with no obligation.
- Can I commission original music that belongs to me exclusively?
- Yes. A custom commission is composed and produced for you from scratch — recorded with real musicians and orchestras to film-score standard — and can be contracted as an exclusive work or full buyout. Scope and price are agreed per quote.
- Do I still owe collection-society fees on an exclusive licence?
- Artyfile administers its sync rights directly, so there are no additional collection-society fees on the licence itself. Public performance at live events remains a normal venue matter handled by the organiser, as with any music.
