One-time licence or subscription?
A subscription rents access to a library; an Artyfile licence is bought once per track. Which is cheaper depends on how many new tracks you need each year. Example with the plans that include client work, as listed on the providers’ pricing pages on 25 September 2026 (EU prices in euros, billed annually; Artlist excl. VAT):

To be fair: subscriptions win on volume. If you need more than about 6 (Epidemic Sound Pro) or 10 (Artlist Pro) new tracks every year, the subscription costs less per track. Subscriptions also clear connected YouTube channels while they run — with Artyfile Basic, a monetization claim may appear.
The difference is what happens when you stop: with both providers, content published during the subscription stays covered, but new projects need an active plan again. An Artyfile track stays licensed for every future project.

How much does a music licence cost at Artyfile?+−
Artyfile Basic costs €29.90 once per track: a worldwide, perpetual sync licence for unlimited own and client projects, delivered as a WAV with a PDF invoice and licence certificate. Limited Edition costs €69.90 per 1% share of a track’s master and includes everything in Basic. Exclusive licences, full buyouts and custom compositions are quoted individually.
Is a one-time music licence better than a subscription?+−
It depends on volume. A subscription can be cheaper if you need many new tracks every year — for example more than about 6 a year compared with Epidemic Sound Pro at €203.88 a year (as listed in September 2026). A one-time licence is better when you reuse a core set of tracks or want the licence to outlast any payment: an Artyfile track stays licensed for every future project, with nothing to renew.
Can I use the music in client projects?+−
Yes. A Basic licence covers an unlimited number of your own projects and projects produced for clients or employers, worldwide and in perpetuity (Terms §8.3). The licence stays with you as the licensee and is non-transferable; your client receives the finished video with cleared music, documented by the licence certificate. A client who wants to use the recording independently of that deliverable needs its own licence.
Will I get a Content ID claim on YouTube?+−
Artyfile uses YouTube Content ID with a monetization policy. A claim may appear; it is not a copyright strike. With Basic, ad revenue claimed for the music goes to Artyfile, not to your channel. Since 24 September 2026, new YouTube Shorts longer than one minute and up to three minutes with an active Content ID claim are no longer blocked automatically and can stay playable; the claim itself still applies. For Shorts campaigns, contact us before buying; a licence does not automatically release a claim.
Do I pay GEMA fees?+−
Not on the licence. Artyfile is registered with GEMA but administers the sync and master rights directly, so there is no additional GEMA or collecting-society fee on the licence. For TV and radio broadcasts the broadcaster files cue sheets, and Artyfile supplies the details on request. Public playback in shops, venues or at events is a separate matter the operator settles with its collecting society.
What happens if I stop buying?+−
Nothing changes. Every licence you bought stays valid worldwide and in perpetuity, including for projects you make years later. There is no plan or renewal the licence depends on; your invoice and licence certificate document the rights.
Can I use a track on TV, in cinema or in paid ads?+−
Yes, with Basic at €29.90: advertising films and commercials, TV and radio productions, and feature, short and documentary films are covered worldwide, with no budget or territory tiers. For broadcasts, Artyfile supplies the cue-sheet details on request.
Is Limited Edition an investment?+−
No. Limited Edition gives you a numbered share of a track’s master (€69.90 per 1%, at most 20 shares per recording), entered in the Artyfile ownership register, plus all Basic licence rights. Any streaming, Content ID or sync revenue is paid pro rata by actual usage, is not guaranteed and may be zero.
