The Person Behind the Platform

Paul Lorenz
Founder & CEO · Composer
“I spent 30 years inside the music industry — Abbey Road, the London Symphony Orchestra, the major labels — and watched composers get paid fractions of their worth. Artyfile is the platform I wished existed: investment-grade music, owned outright, with composers who finally share in the upside.”
- 30 years in music — over 500 million streams across his catalog
- Collaborations with Universal Music, Sony Music & Warner
- Recorded with the London Symphony Orchestra at Abbey Road Studios
- Founder-owned: a named composer behind the catalog, not an anonymous library
You post everywhere. Your music has to be cleared everywhere.
Creators publish the same content across YouTube, TikTok, Instagram, a podcast and a livestream — and most take brand deals. The catch: every platform’s built-in music is locked to that platform, and free in-app audio is off-limits the moment a post is sponsored. Here is what each one actually allows — and the one licence that covers them all.
YouTube
The catch
The YouTube Audio Library is free, but the licence covers use on YouTube. Lift that track into your TikTok edit, your podcast or your website and you are outside the grant — and other "free" music can still draw a Content ID claim.
With Artyfile
One licensed track plays on your channel and everywhere you repurpose it — never blocked, muted or struck.
Music for YouTube →TikTok
The catch
The trending Sound Library is personal-use only; business and brand accounts are limited to the Commercial Music Library, which is licensed for use on TikTok — not guaranteed once you reuse the video elsewhere.
With Artyfile
Real music cleared for commercial use on TikTok and every other platform you cross-post to.
Music for TikTok →Instagram & Reels
The catch
The in-app music library is for personal, non-commercial accounts; business and brand accounts get the smaller Meta Sound Collection — and Meta-licensed music clears Meta apps only, never YouTube or TikTok.
With Artyfile
The same track works on Reels, Stories and feed — and follows you to every other platform, brand-account included.
Music for Instagram →Twitch & live streaming
The catch
Copyrighted music on a stream risks muted VODs and DMCA strikes, and Twitch’s Soundtrack is cleared for the live broadcast only — not for VODs, clips or anything you export to YouTube.
With Artyfile
A worldwide sync licence covers your live stream, the VOD, your clips and the YouTube re-upload — for life.
How licensing works →Podcasts
The catch
A podcast goes out by RSS to Apple, Spotify and YouTube at once, so your intro and bed music must be cleared for distribution across all of them — a platform-locked library track is not.
With Artyfile
License an intro and bed once and distribute it on every podcast platform, with the rights documented.
Music for Podcasts →Brand deals & sponsored posts
The catch
The day a post is sponsored, the free in-app libraries are no longer licensed for it — branded and advertising content needs documented commercial clearance, and brands will ask for it.
With Artyfile
Every Artyfile track carries full commercial sync rights — sponsored posts, paid ads and brand campaigns are covered out of the box.
Music for Commercials →One Artyfile licence — from €29.90, bought once — clears the same track across every platform you post to and every brand deal you sign, for life. No subscription, no per-platform fee, and you can even own a share of the master.
What music can content creators legally use across every platform?
As a creator you publish the same content in a dozen places — and the trap is that every platform's built-in music is licensed for that platform only. The YouTube Audio Library clears you on YouTube; TikTok's Commercial Music Library clears you on TikTok; Instagram's music clears Meta apps. Lift any of those into another edit and you are outside the licence. Artyfile works differently: every track is real, original music with a synchronization and master-use licence in one — managed directly by Artyfile, worldwide and for life. One purchase covers YouTube, TikTok, Instagram, Twitch, podcasts, client work and broadcast, with no extra GEMA or collection-society fees, and your content is never blocked, muted or taken down. Preview every track free, then download a studio-grade WAV the moment you buy.
The catch: free and in-app music is locked to one platform
"Free" creator music is rarely as free as it looks. Audio that is "free to use" *inside* the TikTok, Reels or Shorts editor is not licensed for any other surface the moment your video leaves that app — so the version you cross-post to YouTube or your website is uncovered. "Copyright-free" downloads are worse: if the recording is registered, YouTube's Content ID can still flag it, and in 2023 several "No Copyright" labels were bought out and Content-ID-claimed their whole catalogues overnight. For a creator who repurposes one piece of content everywhere, a platform-locked or "free" track is a patchwork that breaks the moment you step outside the app it came from.
Brand deals change everything
The day a post becomes sponsored, the rules change. Platforms' free in-app music libraries are not licensed for branded or advertising content, and the brand paying you will ask for documented commercial clearance before the post goes live. This is the moment most creators discover their music source does not actually cover them. Every Artyfile track carries full commercial sync rights out of the box — sponsored posts, paid ads, agency briefs and brand campaigns are covered, with the licence documented and ready to hand over. Grow into brand deals without changing your music workflow.
Buy once vs subscribe forever
Subscription libraries like Epidemic Sound and Artlist rent you access. Videos you publish while you pay stay cleared — but the catalogue is never yours: stop paying and you can't use those tracks in anything new, and the bill recurs every month, forever. Artyfile is the opposite. You buy a track once from €29.90 and it's yours for life — reuse it across unlimited future videos, channels, platforms and clients, with no renewal. For the handful of signature tracks a creator actually reuses, a one-time licence costs a fraction of an open-ended subscription over a few years.
What music licensing for creators costs
Artyfile Basic — €29.90 per track, once. A lifetime, worldwide synchronization and master-use licence covering every platform you post on — YouTube, TikTok, Instagram, Twitch, podcasts, client and corporate video, and broadcast — plus brand deals and paid ads, with no subscription and no per-platform fee. Download a studio-grade WAV instantly. Some premium tracks carry individual pricing shown on the track. See full pricing & licences or the licensing hub.
Real, recorded music — not AI or stock loops
Your audience can tell when the music is a stock loop everyone else has used, or an AI render. Artyfile's catalogue is performed by real musicians — including the London Symphony Orchestra at Abbey Road Studios under composer Paul Lorenz (30 years, 500M+ streams) — alongside warm acoustic, electronic, lo-fi, ambient and cinematic pieces that fit a creator's feed. Unlike AI stock (Suno, Udio), every recording has clear human authorship and fully documented rights — which is exactly what makes it safe to license and to hand to a brand.
One licence for every platform you post to
From one catalogue, find music cleared for YouTube, TikTok, Instagram & Reels, podcasts and commercials & brand deals — or browse the full catalogue and filter by mood, tempo and instrument. The same licence covers your livestream and its VOD, your clips and the re-upload. Need something written to your channel's vibe? We also offer a custom score.
Own the music, don't just rent it
Stock and subscription libraries only ever rent you music. With Artyfile Limited Edition (from €96.90) you own 1–10% of the master recording as a Music NFT — so when the track is streamed or licensed again, you earn from it. Use the music safely across every platform for life, or own a piece of it.

Frequently asked questions
Can I use the same music on YouTube, TikTok and Instagram?
Yes — that is the whole point of an Artyfile licence. Each platform’s own music library is licensed for that platform only, so a YouTube Audio Library track, a TikTok Commercial Music Library track or an Instagram in-app song does not legally carry over to the others. One Artyfile track ships with a worldwide synchronization and master-use licence, so the same recording is cleared on YouTube, TikTok, Instagram, Twitch, podcasts and your website, for life.
Is free or royalty-free music safe for content creators?
Often not. Audio that is free to use inside the TikTok, Reels or Shorts editor is not licensed once the video leaves that app, and a registered "copyright-free" download can still draw a YouTube Content ID claim. Some "No Copyright" catalogues have even been bought and Content-ID-claimed after the fact. An Artyfile licence is documented and cleared, so your content is never blocked, muted or struck.
What music can I use for brand deals and sponsored posts?
Sponsored and branded content needs documented commercial clearance, and platforms’ free in-app music libraries are not licensed for it. Every Artyfile track carries full commercial sync rights, so sponsored posts, paid ads and brand campaigns are covered out of the box, with the licence documented and ready to hand to the brand or agency.
Can I use Artyfile music on Twitch and in live streams?
Yes. A worldwide sync licence covers your live stream, the VOD, your clips and the YouTube re-upload. That matters because playing copyrighted music on a stream risks muted VODs and DMCA strikes, and Twitch’s own Soundtrack is cleared for the live broadcast only — not for VODs, clips or anything exported off Twitch.
How much does music licensing for creators cost?
Artyfile Basic is a one-time €29.90 per track for a lifetime, worldwide licence covering every platform you post on plus brand deals and paid ads — no subscription and no per-platform fee. You reuse the track across unlimited future videos. Some premium tracks carry individual pricing shown on the track.
Is it cheaper to buy tracks or pay a subscription like Epidemic Sound or Artlist?
Subscriptions rent you a library: videos published while you pay stay cleared, but you cannot use the tracks in new projects once you stop, and the cost recurs forever. Artyfile is buy-once: pay from €29.90 for a track and it is yours for life across unlimited future content. For the signature tracks a creator actually reuses, buying is far cheaper over time.
Is the music AI-generated?
No. Every Artyfile track is performed by real musicians — including the London Symphony Orchestra at Abbey Road Studios — and curated by composer Paul Lorenz. Unlike AI stock such as Suno or Udio, the recordings have clear human authorship and documented rights, which is what makes them safe to license commercially and to hand to a brand.
Can creators own the music or earn from it?
Yes — with Artyfile Limited Edition (from €96.90) you own 1–10% of the master recording as a Music NFT and earn from streaming and future sync licences when the track is used again. License the music safely across every platform for life, or own a piece of it.
