YouTube & Podcast Intro Music — and Outros to Match
Podcast intro music and YouTube intros define your show's sound in the first few seconds. An Artyfile Basic licence costs €29.90 per track, once: use it as your intro and outro on every episode, worldwide and in perpetuity, on your own channel or a client's, with a WAV download, PDF invoice and licence certificate. For a signature intro that belongs to your channel alone, an exclusive licence is available on request.

What makes good intro and outro music?
An intro has one job: tell the listener within seconds what kind of show this is. The tracks that do it well share a few traits:
- An immediate start. A downbeat, a hit or a short motif in the first second. The opening seconds of an episode are the most valuable ones — use them.
- A clean edit point after 5–15 seconds. Look for a phrase end or cadence where you can cut or duck the music under your voice. YouTube intros usually run 5–10 seconds; podcast themes often 10–30 seconds, with a bed that continues under the host.
- A tempo that fits your delivery. Around 100–125 BPM feels lively for talk and entertainment formats; slower, sparser tracks suit interviews and storytelling.
- An outro from the same track. Using the ending of your intro track as your outro frames the episode and makes the show recognisable.
- Room for voice. Piano, guitar, pads and light percussion sit under speech better than dense lead melodies.
Tracks that work as intros
- Fashion Report Opener — fast, bright pop with piano, synths and band, built to open a show
- The Opener — a fast orchestral cue with an immediate cinematic lift for corporate and sports formats
- Soothe Your Soul - Audio Logo — a relaxed jazz sting with piano, double bass and saxophone for calmer shows

One licence, every episode
With Artyfile Basic (€29.90 per track, once) your intro and outro are licensed for every episode you publish — past and future, on every platform, worldwide and in perpetuity. Sync and master rights come in one licence, managed directly by Artyfile, so the licence carries no additional collection-society fee. You download a 44.1 kHz WAV immediately and receive a PDF invoice and a licence certificate. Producing shows for clients? The licence stays with you; your client receives the finished episodes with cleared music.
Basic is non-exclusive, so other creators can license the same track — good to know if you want your intro to be unmistakably yours.
YouTube intros and Content ID — the honest version
Artyfile registers its catalogue in YouTube Content ID with a monetization policy. If you use the same intro in every video, each of those videos can receive a Content ID claim. A claim is not a copyright strike: your videos stay online and your channel stays in good standing. With Basic, the ad revenue claimed for the music goes to Artyfile, not to your channel.
For audio podcasts distributed through podcast apps, Content ID does not apply — it is a YouTube system. YouTube Shorts follow the same claim logic — since 24 September 2026, Shorts of one to three minutes with an active claim are no longer blocked automatically.
If your channel lives from ad revenue, two options fit better than Basic:
- Limited Edition — €69.90 per 1 % master share. You participate, according to your share, in the recording's worldwide Content ID revenue — including revenue from other creators' videos that use the same recording — plus streaming and third-party sync revenue. Earnings depend on actual use and may be zero.
- Exclusive intro and outro music — an exclusive licence or buyout of a recording for your show, agreed individually on request. You can also have a new intro composed for you through custom music. Both are quoted on request via exclusive licensing.
Video podcasts need a sync licence
The moment your podcast is published as video — on YouTube, Spotify video or social clips — the music is synchronised with picture, and that needs a sync licence, not just audio rights. Artyfile Basic includes sync and master rights together, so the same intro works on the audio feed and the video version. More on this in why video podcasts need sync licences.

Frequently asked questions
What is the best podcast intro music?
The best podcast intro music starts immediately, has a clean edit point after 5–15 seconds and leaves room for your voice. Pick the tempo and mood of your show — lively pop or orchestral for entertainment, piano or jazz for interviews and storytelling.
How much does it cost to license intro music?
Artyfile Basic costs €29.90 per track, once. It covers your intro and outro on every episode, worldwide and in perpetuity, with a WAV download, PDF invoice and licence certificate.
Can I use the same intro music in every YouTube video?
Yes, one Basic licence covers every video. Because Artyfile uses Content ID with a monetization policy, each video with the intro can receive a claim; a claim is not a copyright strike, and with Basic the ad revenue claimed for the music goes to Artyfile.
Does Content ID affect audio podcasts?
Content ID is a YouTube system, so audio episodes distributed through podcast apps are outside it. It applies when your podcast or clips are published as video on YouTube.
Can I get intro music that only my channel uses?
Yes. An exclusive licence or buyout of a recording is available on request, or Artyfile can compose a new intro for your show. Both are agreed individually and quoted on request.
Can I earn from the Content ID revenue of my intro track?
With Limited Edition (€69.90 per 1 % master share) you participate in the recording's worldwide Content ID, streaming and third-party sync revenue according to your share, including other creators' videos. Earnings depend on actual use and may be zero.
Can I license an intro for a client's podcast or channel?
Yes. Basic covers projects you produce for clients. The licence stays with you as the licensee, and your client receives the finished episodes with cleared music.
Can I edit the track to use as intro, outro and background bed?
Yes. You can cut the track to length, use the opening as your intro and the ending as your outro, and run a section under your voice as a bed.
