Music Ownership for YouTube Creators

Stop Renting Your Music. Start Owning It.

For years, you've paid for music licenses you never owned. Artyfile is changing the game. We let professional YouTubers own a numbered share of their soundtrack's master, with pro-rata revenue participation that is not guaranteed, and it may be zero.

Your Music Budget is a Black Hole of Wasted Potential

Think about it. Every subscription fee, every single-track license... it's money you'll never see again. You're renting access to a creative tool, and you never own any of it.

Traditional licensing platforms are built on this one-way transaction. They provide a service, you pay, and the relationship ends there. This model leaves creators powerless, perpetually paying for music they can never truly own. It's a system designed for renting.

What if every track you licensed wasn't just an expense, but a share you actually own? What if your channel's success could be amplified by owning a piece of the music that defines your brand?

Artyfile: Beyond Licensing, Into True Music Ownership

Artyfile is the first platform designed for the creator economy. We offer exclusive, world-class music, but with a revolutionary twist. Our Artyfile Limited Editions grant you a legal share of a song's master rights, entered as a numbered share in Artyfile's ownership register and documented by a personal ownership certificate.

This isn't a gimmick. It's a fundamental shift in power. When you acquire a Limited Edition, you become a co-owner. You participate pro rata in the track's revenue—streams on Spotify, uses in ads, plays on other creators' YouTube channels—not guaranteed, and it may be zero. Limited Edition is not an investment product.

Become a Co-Owner

Purchase a share of the master rights (a numbered 1% share) with a simple one-time payment.

The New Way: Owning vs. Renting

The difference between Artyfile and traditional platforms isn't just a feature—it's a fundamental philosophy. See how owning your music stacks up against renting it.

Ownership vs. Renting
Feature The Artyfile Way (Ownership) The Old Way (Subscription Renting)
Your Money's Role One-Time Purchase Recurring, Unrecoverable Cost
Revenue Participation Pro-rata share of the recording's revenue (not guaranteed, may be zero) Zero. Your money is their revenue.
Your Status You are a Co-Owner You are a Renter
Long-Term Value Share can be Held, Gifted, or Sold No long-term value for you
Artist Relationship Direct Partnership & Fair Remuneration Indirect, often with low payouts

The choice is clear. Why continue to rent when you can own a share of the music you use? Explore Limited Editions.

Your Questions About Music Ownership Answered

What exactly am I buying with a "Limited Edition"?

You are buying two things at once: 1) A perpetual, worldwide sync license to use the high-quality music in your content. 2) A fractional share (e.g., 1%) of the song's master rights, entered in Artyfile's ownership register. Your personal ownership certificate is your verifiable proof of ownership and is what entitles you to a pro-rata share of the recording's revenue — not guaranteed, and it may be zero.

How secure is my ownership, and how can I trust the tracking?

Yes. Your ownership is recorded in Artyfile's central ownership register and documented by a personal ownership certificate (PDF). All revenue collection and distribution is managed through this transparent system, providing an auditable trail of revenue that traditional licensing can't match. You see what we see.

Can I lose money?

Limited Edition is not an investment product. Revenue from your share depends on actual usage of the recording, is not guaranteed and may be zero. What you keep in any case is the lifetime sync licence and the registered ownership share.

Can I sell my ownership share later?

Yes. You can sell, gift or bequeath your ownership share at any time; Artyfile support handles the transfer in the ownership register. Unlike a standard music license, the share can be transferred.

Frequently asked questions

Will Artyfile music trigger a Content ID claim on my YouTube videos?

Yes — Artyfile registers its catalogue with Content ID to collect streaming royalties on behalf of rights holders. You will likely receive a claim, but never a copyright strike. Your video stays live, monetised, and your channel remains in good standing.

Are royalty payments from a Limited Edition share guaranteed?

No. Quarterly royalty statements are provided, but earnings depend entirely on how often the track is streamed, synced, or broadcast worldwide. Payments may be zero in any given quarter. A Limited Edition share is not a financial investment product.

What is the difference between the Basic Licence and a Limited Edition share?

The Basic Licence (€29.90, one-time) gives you lifetime worldwide sync rights for your own videos, ads, and podcasts, plus a WAV download and licence certificate — but no share of master rights or royalties. A Limited Edition share (€69.90 per numbered 1 % share) adds part-ownership of the master recording and access to its royalty stream.

What does 'numbered 1 % share' of a master actually mean?

Each Limited Edition track is split into 100 numbered shares. Owning one means you hold a documented 1 % interest in that specific master recording, entitling you to 1 % of the royalties collected on it — tracked via quarterly statements issued by Artyfile.
