Is your TikTok sound safe to use?
Pick what fits you. We’ll tell you whether TikTok’s in-app music actually covers it — and what to do if it doesn’t.
Verdict
Not safe with TikTok’s in-app music
- ✕Promotional, product or client content counts as commercial use — the trending sounds aren’t licensed for that, so your post can be muted, removed or your ad rejected.
- ✕TikTok’s library tracks are licensed for TikTok only — you can’t legally reuse the same audio on Reels, YouTube, ads or your website.
The fix: license real, original Artyfile music. One flat €29.90 buys full commercial sync + master rights — safe on any account, never struck or muted, and usable on every platform, worldwide, for life. Or own a share and earn.
Can a business use any music it wants on TikTok? Not safely. TikTok keeps two music libraries: the Sound Library with the trending hits — which is personal-use only, off-limits to Business and brand accounts — and the Commercial Music Library (CML), which is cleared for business but sourced from emerging artists, not the songs you actually want. And there's a catch most brands miss: tracks from TikTok's libraries are licensed for TikTok only — you can't reuse that audio in your Reels, YouTube Shorts, ads or website. Artyfile fixes both problems at once: real, original music you license once and use everywhere — fully cleared, never struck or muted.
Why a Business account can’t use the song you want
The moment you switch to a TikTok Business account — or post anything promotional, with a product or a brand mention — you lose access to the personal Sound Library and its mainstream hits. TikTok restricts business and branded content to the Commercial Music Library because the personal-use licences behind trending songs don’t cover commercial use. Post a track you’re not cleared for and your video can be muted, taken down, or your ad rejected. Artyfile is built for exactly this: every track carries full commercial sync and master rights, so it’s safe on a personal, Creator or Business account alike.
This isn’t AI filler or generic stock
Artyfile’s catalogue is made by real musicians and curated by composer Paul Lorenz (30 years, 500M+ streams) — recorded to the same standard as our work with the London Symphony Orchestra at Abbey Road Studios. That means energy, emotion and a human touch generic library tracks can’t fake, across the moods short-form actually needs: punchy and upbeat, cinematic, emotional, dark and driving. Preview every track free before you license it.
“Fully cleared” — what it actually protects
Here’s what one Artyfile licence gives you that a TikTok library track doesn’t:
- No copyright strikes, mutes or takedowns. Sync and master rights are managed directly by Artyfile, so no third party can block or claim your video.
- Use it everywhere, not just TikTok. One licence covers Reels, YouTube Shorts, ads, your website and broadcast — TikTok’s own libraries are licensed for TikTok only.
- No additional GEMA or collection-society fees. Artyfile manages both rights directly (the catalogue is registered with GEMA for worldwide monitoring; the licence runs through Artyfile).
- Lifetime, worldwide, one flat fee. The licence never expires and never needs renewing.
Artyfile vs TikTok’s music libraries
How the options really compare for a brand or business on TikTok:
- TikTok Sound Library (trending hits) — personal use only; not licensed for business or branded content.
- TikTok Commercial Music Library — safe for business, but generic emerging-artist tracks, and licensed for TikTok only (you can’t reuse the audio anywhere else).
- Subscription libraries (Epidemic, Artlist) — broad catalogues, but the licence ends the moment you stop paying, and thousands of other creators use the same tracks.
- Artyfile — real, original, hand-curated music; one flat payment from €29.90; full commercial sync + master rights; use it on every platform, worldwide, for life — and you can even own a share of the master.
What it costs — and what you actually get
Artyfile Basic is a one-time €29.90 per track: a lifetime, worldwide synchronization and master-use licence for TikTok and every other platform — social, film, advertising, broadcast and streaming. No subscription, no per-video fees, no renewals. You download the track instantly as a studio-grade 44.1 kHz WAV. See full pricing & licences.
Own the sound, don’t just rent it
Stock and subscription libraries only ever rent you music. With Artyfile Limited Edition (from €96.90) you own 1–10% of the master recording as a Music NFT — so if your sound takes off and gets licensed or streamed, you earn from it. Use the music safely, or own a piece of it. No TikTok library or subscription can offer that.

Frequently asked questions
Can a business use any music on TikTok?
No. TikTok’s trending Sound Library is personal-use only and off-limits to Business and brand accounts; business and branded content must use the Commercial Music Library or music you’re separately licensed for. Artyfile tracks carry full commercial sync + master rights, so they’re safe on a personal, Creator or Business account alike — and on Reels, YouTube and ads too.
What is TikTok’s Commercial Music Library — and is it enough?
The CML is TikTok’s pool of tracks pre-cleared for business use, sourced from emerging artists rather than major-label hits. It’s safe, but the music is generic and it’s licensed for TikTok only — you can’t reuse those tracks in your Reels, YouTube Shorts, ads or website. Artyfile gives you real, original music with one licence that works across every platform, worldwide and for life.
Will my TikTok video get muted or struck if I use Artyfile music?
No. Every Artyfile track is fully cleared — sync and master rights are managed directly by Artyfile — so your video is never blocked, muted, struck or taken down, anywhere, for as long as it exists.
Can I use the same track on Reels, YouTube Shorts and ads too?
Yes. One Artyfile licence covers every platform — TikTok, Instagram Reels, YouTube Shorts, paid ads, your website and broadcast — worldwide and for life. That’s the key difference from TikTok’s own libraries, which only license the track for use on TikTok.
How much does music for TikTok cost?
Artyfile Basic is a one-time €29.90 per track with a lifetime, worldwide commercial licence — no subscription and no per-video fees. Some premium tracks carry individual pricing shown on the track. You download a studio-grade 44.1 kHz WAV instantly.
Is Artyfile music royalty-free and copyright-safe for TikTok?
It goes beyond royalty-free: you pay once (from €29.90) for a lifetime, worldwide sync + master licence. Because Artyfile manages both rights directly, there are no recurring or collection-society fees and no third party can claim, mute or block your video.
Can I earn money from a TikTok sound?
Yes — with Artyfile Limited Edition (from €96.90) you own 1–10% of the master recording as a Music NFT, so if the track is streamed or licensed again you earn a share of the royalties. License the music safely, or own a piece of it.
